EasyTime:Complete with reader and swipe-cards

A new USB version of the well known EasyTime product with a comprehensive software package for recording, managing and reporting employee and attendance data.

EasyTime is a low cost yet capable solution for the automation of employee attendance recording at the place of work. EasyTime comes complete with:

- the new improved version 2 EasyTime Reader, which is an intelligent USB powered mag-stripe reader with confirmation via a buzzer and a new tri-state LED. It uses EasyTime's unique bi-directional swipe for clocking In and Out.

- a set of 25 employee swipe cards

- and a straight-forward software package for Windows XP, Vista and 7.

The new improved version 2 EasyTime Reader is an intelligent USB powered mag-stripe reader with confirmation via a buzzer and a new tri-state LED. It uses EasyTime's unique bi-directional swipe for clocking In and Out.

It is functionally similar to the original RS232 Serial reader but connects to a USB port instead of a serial COM port, but, due to its built-in USB interface, does not require an external USB - Serial converter.

The reader connects to and is powered by a serial com port on the PC, if there isn't one then use one of the reliable USB or network adapters below (200225, 200254, 200255 and 200256).

N.B. If your existing reader is fixed to a Wall Box with its cable "punched in" to an RJ45 connector then please send your old reader complete with Wall Box and RJ45 connector and we will install and test the new one by return (please let us know in the order comments if you are doing this).

5 metre serial cable with 9-pin D-type female to 9-pin D-type male connectors, for EasyTime and EasyTime Version 2.

N.B. connections made must be kept within RS232 distance limits. Due to the variation in PC COM port implementations and the local environment no guarantee can be made beyond 8 metres, however EasyTime reader connections with longer distances have been successfully installed.

5 frosted rigid plastic card holders for use with EasyTime and other credit card sized cards.

These are usually used in conjunction with a lanyard or badge reel - see below - 200017 & 200018.

5 Black round woven lanyards (965mm) for use with card holders - see 200016 above.

A slimline white plastic wall box:

- either with cut-outs for an EasyTime Reader's data connector and screws, that allows it to be mounted on a wall

- or blank for easy connection of an EasyTime Display Reader.

Please specfiy which type of reader when ordering.

Both versions have 3 blanked holes for surface mount trunking to the top and sides, and six cable exit points at the bottom. There are clips inside to make the EasyTime extension cable captive.

There are options that allow point to point serial connection via CAT5 structured cabling:

- either an internal RJ45 socket complete with a matching socketed DB9 (COM1) connector for a standard single EasyTime Reader

- or a set of 3 RJ45 sockets for the RS485 readers vcomplete with a further option including a smart DC socket for correct connection of a local power supply for display or distant readers.

N.B. with the standard single reader version connections made with this wall box must be kept within RS232 distance limits. Due to the variation in PC COM port implementations and the local environment no guarantee can be made beyond 8 metres, however EasyTime reader connections with longer distances have been successfully installed.

For the RS485 / Multiple Reader version please remember to order a Wall Box with appropriate options for the Reader included with EasyTime as well as for the additional readers.

The RJ45/ Serial connector options are not available for the new version 2-USB Bi-Directional Reader (200027/8) - third party USB extension or networked USB server options should be used instead.

A pair of DB9 connectors to enable the EasyTime reader's data connection to be extended via Cat 5 cabling.

The Digi One SP allows the EasyTime reader to be located elsewhere on the local network and will power the EasyTime bi-directional RS232 reader.

Requirements:

A Cat5 network point and patch lead.

EasyTime PC must be networked and accessable on the same network as the Digi One SP.

A mains socket within 1 metre of the Digi One SP.

An unused network IP address to be available on the network for allocation to the Digi One SP.

Digi One SP's RealPort software to be installed on the EasyTime PC and one of COM1 to COM4 to be available on it for use by the Digi One SP's RealPort driver.

The Digi One SP will need to be configured via a Web Browser from the EasyTime PC.

A quality wireless networking product from Digi, complete with a robust Windows virtual com port driver.

The Digi Connect Wi SP allows the EasyTime reader to be located elsewhere on the local network and will power the EasyTime bi-directional RS232 reader.

Requirements:

A wireless network access point on the same network as the EasyTime PC and the Digi Connect.

A mains socket within 1 metre of the Connect Wi SP.

An unused network IP address to be available on the network for allocation to the Digi Connect.

Digi Connect's RealPort software to be installed on the EasyTime PC and one of COM1 to COM4 to be available on it for use by the Digi Connect's RealPort driver.

The Digi Connect will need to be configured via a Web Browser from the EasyTime PC.
